Semi-Metallic Brake Pads

Semi-Metallic brake pads are comprised of harder metals like copper iron and steel.  Most cars on the road today use semi-metallic pads.

PROS:

  • Highly common and very affordable to the average consumer.
  • The most durable set of brake pads available given their high metal content and heat transfer characteristics.
  • Reliable stopping power and longer lasting than most other brake pads.
  • Perfect for improved stopping of larger vehicles.
  • Produce less dust than an organic pad.

CONS:

  • Higher metal content translates to more wear on the contact surface of the rotors/drums.
  • Semi-metallics require a bit of heat to function the best.
  • More expensive than organic pads.
